The use of immunotherapy in Cancer care is a rapidly expanding field and more and more commonly a wide range of health care professionals from community teams to A+E are seeing patients who are receiving theses systemic therapies.

This training day will provide an overview for all health professionals caring for patients receiving immunotherapy, including how immunotherapy works and its indications but with a particular focus on practical advice for recognising and management of immune mediated toxicity.

This meeting will be of value to GP’s, nurses and community teams, Palliative care teams, general medical specialties, physician associates and trainees.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understand how immunotherapy works in cancer patients
  2. Understand where immunotherapy fits in current cancer management
  3. Recognise and identify immune mediated toxicity
  4. Evaluate patients with potential immune mediated toxicity and decide appropriate action
