On Wednesday 22nd May, from 10am to 3pm, St Josephs’s Hospice in Hackney will be celebrating five years of delivering Namaste Care to people living with dementia in the East London boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, and City & Hackney, and also marking Dementia Action Week 2019 – which runs from 20th to 26th May.
This is a FREE event, and will take place at St Joseph’s Hospice in Mare Street, Hackney. There will be refreshments available. We are hope you can join us!
5 years on … the story of Namaste Care East London – 10am to 12.30pm
Join us for a morning of presentations, with guest speakers talking about the history and development of Namaste Care at St Joseph’s Hospice, and including a short video message from Joyce Simard, founder of the Namaste Care Program.
The presentations will take place in the Education Centre on the first floor. They start at 10am, but please note that registration will be from 9.45am.
Dementia Action Week – Activities from 10am to 3pm
In the Hub and Garden Room on the ground floor, there will be various stalls from local organisations, and activities throughout the day for people living with dementia, their families, friends and wider community, to include:
- Free complementary therapy taster sessions – 10am to 1.30pm
- Hand massage taster sessions & workshops – all day
- Fabulous sing-a-long session – 1.30pm
- Seated yoga / exercise session – 2pm
- Dementia Friends information sessions 2pm
Both the activities and presentations are free to attend and you do not have to book, but if you plan to attend the presentations, please do reply to let us know so that we have some idea of numbers.
