ehospice celebrates a year of publishing

Categories: In The Media.

When we launched we set out to revolutionise the way people access news on hospice, palliative and end of life care – via web, mobile and tablet. As the first internationally managed resource of its kind, we aimed to give anyone with a personal or professional interest in this type of care access to the latest news, intelligence, commentary and analysis from the sector, as well the expertise and experience of the global palliative care community.

We hope you agree that we have done just that.

With over 4,000 articles published across the 10 editions already, we have built up an enviable repository of stories and details of good practice that readers from across then world can draw upon at any time.

Through this catalogue of news and intelligence, we are helping to spread knowledge and awareness of hospice and palliative care across the world, as well as keep people up to date on all the latest developments in their local area or region.

Search the wealth of articles using the categories, or the advanced search facility, where you can search by keyword and tags. And be sure to visit the edition home pages each day for all the latest news, or sign up for email alerts and get the news sent to you each day.

Reflecting on a busy year, ehospice trustee and CEO of Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa Liz Gwyther said:

“We have seen remarkable success with ehospice as an innovative hospice and palliative care news and information platform.

“As a ‘new’ technology news service, ehospice is user-friendly, catering for those more comfortable with website access as well as for the more technologically aware reader using tablets and smart phones.

“Our initial goal was to reach 10,000 users in the first 3 months of ehospice – we had near 40,000 readers between October and December 2012 and reached 100,000 unique visitors to the website only by July 2013.”

Liz added:

“I would like to congratulate the ehospice editors for the interesting and useful articles published on ehospice that have resulted in ehospice becoming the ‘go-to’ hospice news service worldwide.”

David Praill, Chair of ehospice and CEO of Help the Hospices in the UK, added:

“It is remarkable how much we have achieved in such a short period of time. ehospice is a truly global collaboration, and all the organisations and individuals involved in delivering this innovative resource over the past year have worked tirelessly to deliver on our ultimate goal of helping to improve patient care.

“We have already had over 140,000 unique visitors and are closing in on one million page views; with a Spanish Language Latin America edition launching very soon, we look forward to spreading awareness of palliative care and sharing good practice with an ever increasing number of people. We are still only in the foothills when considering future opportunities and potential, and we look forward to taking ehospice to the next level.

“Thank you to all editors, sponsoring organisations, contributors, advertisers and readers; we greatly value your support.”
