Like other countries in Africa, Morocco too is experiencing an epidemiological transition, marked by the coexistence of both infectious and chronic diseases.
In recent years, Morocco has taken significant strides to incorporate palliative care into its services. In a country where 60 to 70% of all cancer cases are metastatic and incurable at the time of diagnosis, the need for palliative care is compounded by the fact that more than two thirds of the population has no medical coverage. Hence, Morocco’s need for palliative care integration could not be greater.
