Ugandan HIV/AIDS programme suffers financial cuts after US suspends funding over anti-homosexuality law

The paper reported the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary, Asuman Lukwago, as saying that the jobs were being lost from a HIV/AIDS programme,
“The [cooperative financing] agreement is on hold. We don’t know how long this
[suspension] will take, but negotiations are ongoing,” Dr Lukwago said.

The article finished by highlighting the millions of dollars
being suspended, withdrawn or re-routed 
by Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands and Sweden as well as the decision
to delay $90m loan from the World Bank that was intended to bolster Ugandan
health care.
