Dr. Romayne Gallagher joins the Canadian Virtual Hospice team

Romayne’s experience in palliative care spans 25 years and includes patient care, teaching and research. She has been involved in collaborative work to improve access to palliative care at both provincial and national levels. Romayne is currently the Co-Chair of the Public Information and Awareness Working Group of the National Strategy on Palliative and End-of-Life Care and a clinical professor in the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia. She has published a number of research articles and authored chapters in palliative care and pain management publications. Romayne’s other areas of interest are pain management in older adults, including adults with cognitive impairment or dementia.

 

Like the other members of Virtual Hospice’s clinical team, Romayne will contribute to the multi-disciplinary responses to questions submitted to Ask a Professional, write articles, evaluate resources, participate in our knowledge exchange activities and help chart the future course of Virtual Hospice. Virtual Hospice’s team includes palliative care physicians, clinical nurse specialists, a psychosocial consultant, a spiritual care advisor and ethicists.
