The final programme for the first International Children’s Palliative Care Conference is now available to download online from the ICPCN website. The programme now offers 3 pre-conference workshops, 5 applied workshops, the premiere of 5 short films on children’s palliative care made by Moonshine Movies (the dynamic team that brought us the Life Before Death series in 2012) and much more. Those attending the conference should note that the programme, which will also be provided as a hard copy to delegates on their arrival, is to be provided apart from the Abstract Book. A PDF file with all the abstracts will be provided in electronic format to delegates and will soon be available for download from the ICPCN website as well.

Interesting information to be found in the programme includes general facts on Mumbai, the expected weather, what to wear, maps of the venue and where it is situated and the detailed programme. There are short bios on all the plenary speakers as well as a list of poster, oral and workshop presentations. The programme also includes more information on the 5 Applied Workshops as well as the programmes for the 3 pre conference workshops to take place on Sunday 9 February.

Final arrangements for the conference have now begun in earnest and the team in Mumbai eagerly await the arrival of the delegates from 30 different countries around the world.

“The calibre of keynote and plenary speakers presenting at the conference, as well as the exciting events we have lined up for delegates, will make it one to remember,” says Prof Julia Downing, Scientific Conference Chair. “India has never before been host to this many ‘greats’ in the world of children’s palliative care and it would be a huge pity for those working with children in the field of health care and who live in and around Mumbai, to miss this opportunity to learn from them,” she went on to say.

And if you are hesitating, there are still places and there is still time to register for and attend the conference. But time is very short for those who live outside of India, as a visa is required. For those who live inside the country, what are you waiting for?
