Dr. José Pereira, Chief Scientific Officer and Dr. Kathryn Downer, National Director for Pallium Canada, attended the conference and proudly received the award on behalf of the Pallium Canada Team.

The award recognizes the Learning Essentials Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) Courses developed by Pallium Canada as a Mainpro+® certified educational program that has provided an exceptional learning experience to practicing or practice-eligible CFPC members. The LEAP Courses were evaluated by CFPC members and are recognized to be an innovative and important learning tool to the practice of family medicine. The Learning Essentials Approaches to Palliative Care (LEAP) are a suite of courses and workshops designed to build generalist-level palliative care competencies for health care professionals. LEAP Courses are developed by content experts and end users (both facilitators and learners) and undergo continual peer review and quality improvement.

The 8th National CPD Accreditation Conference occurring on October 17 & 18, 2016 in Toronto is jointly hosted by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
