The first and second printings (versions 1 and 1.2) of over 20,000 copies sold out quickly. To meet the strong interest in this clinical resource Pallium Canada has recently conducted a blind peer-reviewed process to ensure that content is up-to-date and valid in the soon to be printed Pallium Palliative Pocketbook version 1.3.
About the Pallium Palliative Pocketbook:
The Pallium Palliative Pocketbook is peer-reviewed and fully-referenced, intended to support safe, ethical, effective and accountable palliative clinical service interventions in various community-based settings of care (i.e. home, hospice, community hospital, long-term/continuing care, community cancer care, etc.).
The Pocketbook is designed to be used as a companion, or “take away,” practice support resource with other Pallium professional education tools, such as the Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End-of-Life Care (LEAP) course.
We wish to keep publishing costs reasonable and so request that you inform us of your potential to purchase PPP 1.3 so that we will meet and not exceed order requests. We intend to offer the Pallium Palliative Pocketbook 1.3 at the same low price of $19.95 plus shipping and handling, to be made available through the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association (CHPCA) Marketplace in August 2013.
Please respond to the survey below by June 21st, 2013 to identify your interest to purchase.
2nd Edition Planned for 2015 Release
A 2nd Edition of the Pocketbook is planned for release in 2015. It will mirror the renewal and expansion of the Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End-of-Life Care (LEAP) courseware and reflect additional content areas including Advanced Care Planning (ACP), an expanded ‘difficult discussions, better decisions’ and grief and bereavement support. An interactive e-version will also be developed with similar release date.
