The report addresses patients’ access to treatment, support and new therapies, the cost of accessing treatment and the impact of metastatic breast cancer on patients and caregivers. The report’s findings are based on an online survey that collected data from 87 individuals, of which 82% were living with metastatic breast cancer and 18% who were caring for someone with the disease. Through this survey, participants shared experiences and challenges the disease has had on their lives. The results of this survey intend to inform patient group submission to the pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review and present an accurate depiction of the experiences of those affected by metastatic breast cancer that can be taken into account when recommendations are made.
