What do you think about Rehabilitation in Palliative Care?

Categories: Research.

Share your view by taking part in this European-wide research survey.  As the population across Europe ages, palliative care faces challenges on how to best respond to the increasing needs of people living longer with, and dying from, advanced chronic illnesses. In this context, the integration of rehabilitation in palliative care is one area that is receiving increasing attention.

The European Association of Palliative Care has a Taskforce dedicated to exploring the contribution of rehabilitation in palliative care and as a starting point they have launched a new research survey:

‘Current Practice and Perspectives of Multidisciplinary Professionals on Rehabilitation in Palliative Care across Europe’.

This ethics-approved study aims to benchmark the current picture of rehabilitation in palliative care across Europe, including how it is understood, who is involved, what it looks like in practice and whether it adds value.

To help gather a full picture of the current understanding and practice of rehabilitation in palliative care, the Taskforce is particularly interested in views of all professionals – both those who are interested in and already practicing rehabilitation in palliative care but also, importantly, those who may not be so familiar with this approach.

In short this survey is for ALL professions working in palliative care including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists, spiritual support and psychosocial practitioners.

You can take part in the English survey by clicking here or see below for other languages available. We also ask for your support to share the link widely through your networks to help us reach as many people as possible over the next two weeks!

The survey closes at midnight on Sunday 27 April.
