This week, Pallium India have reported that Kerala State Human Rights Commission has asked that the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare submit a report to the Commission by 12 August outlining:
- what steps the government have taken to implement the state’s palliative care policy, formulated in 2008
- whether morphine and other medicines are made available in medical college and district hospitals
- whether qualified doctors and nurses are appointed to these hospitals.
The case is to be heard on 29 August 2014.
