Armenia to hold its first international symposium on Children’s Palliative Care

A Satellite Symposium attached to the 4th International Medical Congress of Armenia taking place from 2 – 4 July at the Armenia Marriott Hotel in Yerevan will be held on Wednesday 1 July 2015.

Symposium chair is Dr Narine Movsisyan from Yerevan State Medical University with Dr Susan Fowler Kerry, (University of Saskatchewan, Canada) and Ms Colette Cunningham, (University College Cork, Ireland) as keynote speakers.

Supported by the Open Society Foundations and the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) amongst others, the symposium promises stimulating topics by seasoned and experienced speakers, panel discussions as well as time for questions and answers.

Programme
The programme commences with an opening address at 10h00 by the Chair of OSF Armenia following which presentations will include:

  • 360º through children’s palliative care
  • Palliative care in Armenia
  • Palliative care for adolescents
  • Dispelling the myths on children’s pain in life-threatening illness
  • Children with exceptional healthcare needs

Dr Narine Movsisyan will provide the closing remarks at 16h15.
