Families gather at EACH in Milton to celebrate 25 year anniversary

Categories: Community Engagement.

This particular Friday afternoon at the Cambridge hospice was rather different to every other Friday. It was filled with tea, refreshments, outdoor games, lizard themed craft activities and some face painting to celebrate 25 years to the day that the hospice was opened by Princess Diana in 1989.

East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) hosted an afternoon tea party at the hospice grounds which was attended by guests including EACH families, staff and volunteers.

Tracy Rennie, the director of care at the hospice made the following comment about EACH’s royal patron, the Duchess of Cambridge, “she’s incredibly supportive of the charity, and not just each but the whole palliative care sector”.

When EACH was opened on 1 August 1989, it was only one of four children’s hospices in the United Kingdom at the time. Today there are over 40 children’s hospices in the United Kingdom.
