As Hats and Masks on for Children’s Palliative Care day fast approaches, the newly published #HatsOn4CPC toolkit includes some useful hints and tips for participants when it comes to promoting their event.
Gill Macdonald, Communications Manager for the International Children Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) organiser of the annual awareness-raising day said “Getting publicity in your local media and by sharing your story on social media is key to a successful Hats On day. It is always good to decide beforehand what your goals are. Do you want to raise awareness of your work, do you want to raise money for your organisation or do you want to do both! Once you have decided, take a look at the #HatsOn4CPC Toolkit and use the media release template and adapt it for your own messages. You can use the draft social media Tweets and Facebook stories too. Just adapt them for your own use. This year there is also a great guide to getting the most out of your local media and also a Hints and Tips sheet, showing you how to make short films using your phone camera.”
All these resources and many more are available free to download from the ICPCN website. Every event registered goes on the Global Impact Map too, so you can see your colleagues across the world stepping up to shout about the great work they are doing in the field of children’s palliative care.
