On the 23rd September 2026 the International Children’s Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) launched it’s Global Research Hub.
The Hub has been created to strengthen and connect the global children’s palliative care research community. Developed through an extensive co-design process involving researchers, clinicians, educators, students, and advocates from around the world, it has been built by researchers, for researchers.
The need for stronger research in children’s palliative care has never been greater. Significant evidence gaps remain, many researchers work in isolation, and opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, training, and knowledge exchange are often difficult to access. The Global Research Hub aims to help address these challenges by providing a space to:
Connect with researchers and research-active professionals from around the world
- Discover opportunities for collaboration and networking
- Access research resources, training, and learning opportunities
- Share research activities, events, and outputs
- Participate in a growing global community committed to advancing children’s palliative care research

This special event will bring together research leaders from different WHO regions for a conversation about the current state of children’s palliative care research, emerging priorities for the field, and opportunities for future collaboration. Members of the Hub Design Committee will also reflect on the global co-design journey that shaped the Hub and its vision for supporting the research community.
