Professor Geoffrey Hanks, who died earlier this year and who has been described by colleagues as a ‘giant’ of palliative care research, teaching and clinical work, will be remembered throughout the event, with the first presentation of the seminar dedicated to his memory.
The GW Hanks keynote lecture is held by Professor Marie Fallon, entitled: The role of systemic inflammation in the pathophysiology of symptoms in advanced cancer patients’.
The scientific programme will explore latest developments within cancer pain and cachexia research.
