Armenia to introduce national palliative medicine system

Suren Krmoyan, Head of Staff at the Ministry, announced in a press conference yesterday that services will be launched both in Yerevan – the nation’s capital – and in different regions in the country. 

Mr Krmoyan referred to recent amendments to the law: ‘On Medical Aid and Services’ which defines palliative medicine as a separate healthcare service, as well as to the launching of training of nurses in palliative care. 

Palliative medicine is set to be included in the curriculum of the State Medical University.
