The training programme is supported by the Singapore International Foundation, in collaboration with Rachel House and the Jakarta Cancer Foundation.
The training follows recommendations regarding the increased need for palliative care for cancer patients, as reported by the Jakarta Cancer Foundation and the Indonesian Palliative Society.
Dr Maria Witjaksono, Secretary of the Indonesian Palliative Society, said: “The training will be held as soon as the module has been fully developed, hopefully in October 2014. The training will have support from the Singapore International Foundation to finalize the module and to conduct the training.”
Participants in the training will include doctors, nurses and pharmacists working at public hospitals in Jakarta.
