CSI publishes Triennial Report

Categories: Research.

The Cicely Saunders Institute (CSI) is home to King’s College London’s Department of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, which brings together a community of academics, clinicians, community organisations, patients and carers, whilst also providing education and training opportunities. It is the world’s only purpose-built Institute dedicated to palliative care and rehabilitation.

This report highlights the achievements from the past four years and features the Institute’s work in areas such as person-centred outcome measures, symptom-led research, methodological innovation and living and dying in society. It also features the Institute’s current research strategy and signposts towards future ambitions in areas such as global health and patient and public collaboration.

The Institute is passionate about ensuring people live better with life-limiting disease, with dignity and choice, and minimal suffering, including to the end of their lives. It champions the message of Dame Cicely Saunders (1922-2005) ‘you matter because you are you and you matter all the days of your life’, and her method in putting people not their disease first, in providing total care, and in evidence-based practice, care and education.

The report is available via the Cicely Saunders Institute website. Further resources and details of upcoming events are also available via this website.

Please do get in touch should you require a printed copy of the report or any further information. The Cicely Institute is located at Bessemer Road, London SE5 9PJ. Telephone: + 44 (0)20 7848 5516, or Email: palliativecare@kcl.ac.uk
