According to the article a government commissioned report, published on 18 December, stated that assisted suicide might be appropriate in cases of incurable illness. The report, from a panel chaired by Didier Sicard, the former head of France’s national ethics committee, was commissioned by French President François Hollande earlier this year.
A statement from the Elysee Palace indicates that an End of Life Bill will be presented to parliament in June 2013.
