IAPC offers 20 bursaries for the ICPCN conference

ICPCN’s first international conference on children’s palliative care is being held between 10 and 12 February 2014 in Mumbai, India.

The theme of the Conference is ‘Transforming Ideas to Action’, and aims to provide a platform for sharing of ideas and action strategies for advocacy, strengthening networks among professionals and developing “champions” to advocate for children suffering with life limiting illnesses and for empowering families.

The conference invites multi-disciplinary professionals including doctors, nurses, social workers, other related professionals, parents and volunteers as well as representatives from various hospitals, institutions and organisations to attend and participate in this conference.

The conference is based on strengthening global initiatives, advocacy strategies and networking for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions to be a voice for the child. Plenary talks, workshops and concurrent sessions will be conducted by experts from all over the world in the field of children’s palliative care.

The bursaries will cover the registration fees for up to 10 nurses and 10 social workers. Applicants should have an abstract accepted for poster or oral presentation at the conference. Nurses and social workers who have already registered for the conference can also apply for the bursary.

Applications, which should include bio-data and details of the abstract submitted, should be emailed to childrenspalliativecare@gmail.com by 23 January 2014.
