The IASP is an association of clinicians, researchers and policy makers aimed at researching the phenomenon of pain and translating the knowledge generated into effective pain relief worldwide.
The IASP pain management camp started as a pilot project by the association to teach pain assessment and control through an interactive learning environment. It has developed into a five-day course.
This year it will be held from 28 April to 2 May 2013 in conjunction with the ASEAPS 2013 conference in Singapore.
The ASEAPS conference is a biennial conference organised by the Pain Societies from ASEAN – comprising Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
Doctors (especially advanced specialty trainees) and other health-care professionals (nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologist etc.) are strongly encouraged to attend the pain management camp.
Applicants must fulfil the set criteria and be current members of both the IASP and their local IASP chapter.
The deadline for nominations is 22 February 2013. Successful applicants will be notified by 4 March 2013.
Award criteria and eligibility requirements can be found on the IASP pain management camp website.
