“There are no online reviews for hospices,” said US author, Sybil Sage, to her older brother upon his decision to stop dialysis and enter hospice care.

In an honest, humorous and poignant essay, Ms Sage narrates her experience of accompanying her brother during the last days of his life. She recounts the small daily events, such as eating spaghetti (to die for), her impressions of the hospice that accommodated the pair, the jokes they shared, and also the deeper bond they had the opportunity to forge in the face of her brother’s physical decline.
