The conference was organised by the Belarusian Children’s Hospice and Belarusian Ministry of Health in collaboration with the International Children’s Palliative Care Network.
Palliative care for children has been recognized in many countries of the world with different social, economic, cultural and political environments. It is important to consider these specific features to ensure basic principles of palliative care and its main target – high quality of life of seriously ill children.
Palliative care experts from Eastern and Western Europe, as well as the rest of the world, will analyse the current situation in children’s palliative care in countries with limited resources to define the obstacles to its provision and promotion and develop a strategy on palliative care based on the best international practices for children and young adults in these countries.
