Staff from the The Mega Importers donated several items to Machakos Level 5 Hosptial as well as its Palliative Care Unit during their visit to the hospital.
The diapers help prevent urine incontinence thus reducing bedsores
making patients more comfortable and the type to be used depends on the
extent of the problem and the patient’s gender.
They also gave a talk on prevention of urine incontinence to the health care workers at Machakos Level 5 Hospital.
The staff at Machakos Palliative Care Unit (PCU) lead my Mr. Elija Musau appreciated the donation from the group saying the donation would help their patients especially those with life threatening illnesses and asked the group to extend their kind heart to others with similar need.
In an effort to create a more conducive and exciting environment for patients and families suffering from life threatening illnesses, the formerly rusted roof of the Machakos Palliative Care Unit, which has been in existence since 1922, was repainted through the Facility Improvement Fund at a cost sharing platform with Machakos level 5 hospital.
“This has made the unit to be more presentable to patients and relatives who rely on it for counseling and other end of life care.” Mr. Musau said.
