Festive wishes from ehospice

As the pace of life slows just a little for people around the world to celebrate various festive occasions, we at ehospice are taking a moment to reflect on the past few months since this uniquely collaborative international venture first launched.

Going live on 2 October, ehospice brought together hospice and palliative care organisations and news from around the world into the one place.

In Kenya we launched with a breadth of emerging issues in palliative care from the third Kenya National Palliative Care Conference including Experience of nurses in palliative care and Palliative Care for a Prisoner among others.

Soon after launch we highlighted walks to raise funds by Nairobi and Coast Hospices, culminating in World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, with a highlight of Living Room International screening women for Cervical Cancer in Chebaiywa village.

We have since published a range of local hospice and palliative care stories, the prestigious Red Ribbon Award won by KEHPCA, and recently the Hospice African Adventure tour through Kenya and much much more.

ehospice on the go

The iPad app version of ehospice was first available and announced at Help the Hospices ‘Community engagement’ conference in Manchester, UK on 29 November 2012, where more than 300 delegates gathered to discuss the future of hospice care.

The iPhone app and mobile website versions are under development and expect to be launched early in 2013, which will make accessing your palliative care news, views and inspiration even more convenient wherever you are.
