St Bernards Hospice in East London have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to establish a coffee-shop on their premises in the name of Betty Bennet, who founded their hospices 30 years ago.
The campaign was launched on 9 October, World Hospice Palliative Care Day with a Spring Market in partnership with local radio station LinkFM. The station conducted a live broadcast from the hospice on the day and listeners were invited to listeners were invited to call in and buy a song for R250 during the Top 40 Show. Together they successfully reached their target of raising R22,000 and additional funds are being raised online too.
It is hoped that the coffeeshop will help to supplement the hospice’s monthly income. To learn more about St Bernards and support their campaign please visit https://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/stbernardshospice-springmarket
