Which sessions did you attend that appealed to you?
All the plenary sessions were my favourite. They were excellent and very interesting. In particular my favourites were the session on the need assessment for palliative care by Liz Gwyther, as well as the session addressing will and estate.
Highlights of the conference?
I am impressed by how well organised the conference is! It’s also great to meet, network and connect with the people in the palliative care industry. Another highlight for me was the attendance and support of the MEC for health Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo.
Things you will be taking back with you and applying at your organisation?
The two main things I will be taking back with me are
1. The importance of training and education
2. Details of the CaSipo project. I will communicate this to my hospice and various other hospices in KwaZulu Natal.
