This course is for music therapists, music therapy students, community musicians and other practitioners who use music in therapeutic or interactive ways.

About this course

Songwriting is a powerful therapeutic intervention which can help people express and understand themselves at challenging or difficult times. This workshop explores the importance of songwriting and its significant place in current therapeutic practice. Drawing on established therapeutic models it focuses on developing practical skills and techniques that can be applied in a wide range of contexts and genres.

  • Therapeutic frameworks for songwriting in a variety of contexts
  • Practical skills and techniques that can be used and developed immediately
