App to help people affected by dementia

Categories: Community Engagement.

Talking Point is an online community which offers support and information for anyone affected by dementia. Users can ask for advice, read others’ experiences, share information and feel supported.

The community has almost 30,000 registered members, including people with dementia and those caring for them. Posts cover a wide range of subjects such as the stresses and strains of caring for someone with dementia, financial worries and dealing with loss.

Katherine Watt, Talking Point manager, said: “Over a fifth of our users access Talking Point from their mobile and tablet devices, so it’s important that we make that experience as clear and straightforward as possible.

“Talking Point offers a lifeline to people who might not be able to access other Alzheimer’s Society services, and our new app means it’s now even easier to get support and information about dementia – wherever you are.”

The free Talking Point app can be download from the iTunes App Store and from the Google Play Store.
