Bridges and grooms-to-be in Milton Keynes are now able to raise funds for their local hospice on their wedding day.
Willen Hospice has opened its first bridal boutique where brides will be able to shop for their dream dress, while shoppers can donate their wedding outfits after use to help make someone else’s day special.
The new boutique is located above the charity’s main shop on the High Street. It is stocked with a huge range of new and pre-loved dresses, not only for brides, but for bridesmaids and mothers of the bride; as well as prom and party dresses.
Tina Dye, Shop Manager said: “Our boutique gives ladies planning their wedding a choice of exquisite wedding gowns at a reasonable price, helping them to make special memories on the day.
Bride-to-be Lia Christodoulou visited the shop and said: “Looking for your wedding dress is such a special occasion. Thanks to the help of Tina and the team, a gorgeous variety of dresses and incredible prices going towards a fantastic local charity, my experience was so memorable.”
Tina adds: “Your beautiful wedding dress could be just what someone else is looking for, and is a great way to re-use and recycle something that’s only been worn once. By donating your dress, you’ll be helping Willen Hospice to raise vital funds.”
The hospice has also teamed up with a local wedding venue to host a vintage wedding fair to raise funds for the charity.
The Wedding Fair, which will take place in Northampton on February 2, will enable couples to find ideas and inspiration for their big day. There will be a range of bespoke local suppliers, including photographers, venue dressers, caterers, cake makers, live music and DJs. Couples can even book the venue where the fair is taking place, Furtho Manor, for their own wedding.
Megan Warren, Events Fundraiser, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing lots of people at our Wedding Fair. There are some really exciting exhibits, and Furtho Manor is such a lovely place, so a huge thank you to them for organising this event in aid of the hospice.”
