Carers UK, London School of Economics and University of Westminster are working together to research the use of technology by carers and the people they support.
Carers are being sought to take part in focus groups taking place between February and April 2013. Each session will include an introduction to new and emerging technologies, and a group discussion about how technology can be used to help carers and those they support.
The project is funded by the Assisted Living Innovation Platform of the Technology Strategy Board, which is a UK public advisory body which reports to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). In the past, the board has funded technology projects such as using renal biomarkers to detect kidney damage , or using video games to train triage skills.
Those interested in participating should submit their details online by completing the survey on the Carers UK website.
Travel costs will be reimbursed and light refreshments will be provided at each session.
