‘Prepared to care?’ is the theme of this years Carers Week (10 to 16 June 2013) which will focus on how prepared people are for the role of caring – both emotionally and practically – and whether the wider population is prepared for future caring responsibilities.
The week will also highlight how effectively the government is supporting the growing numbers of carers, and the important role services and professionals have in supporting carers.
The survey asks carers to share their experiences of being carers and the impact it has had on their lives. The survey findings will feed into a report that will be published at the start of Carers Week 2013 and help identify the focus of the campaign in 2014 and 2015.
The survey can be completed online and will be available until 3 May 2013.
Carers Week takes place every year to recognise and celebrate the 6.5 million people throughout the UK providing unpaid care for a family member or friend who is ill, frail or has a disability.
