30 hours per week
Salary: WB Band 5/6: £24,200 – £31,888 + death in service benefit and pension from November 2015 (unless transferring in from NHS)
27 days holiday entitlement per annum + B/Hs
Willow Burn Hospice is an independent charity based in Lanchester, delivering Palliative and End of Life Care Services to adults across Derwentside and Co Durham.
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional person to take up our role of Counsellor and Family Support Co-ordinator.
You will provide a high quality, comprehensive bereavement counselling and support service to adults and children, in individual, family and group settings. You will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to the understanding of patients, families and carers’ psychological, emotional and social problems.
You will have experience of delivering individual bereavement counselling and therapeutic support in a health or social care setting.
We are seeking a person with broad knowledge and experience of End of Life Care and palliative care philosophy at national and local level.
Applicants will need to have a recognised Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and be BACP accredited or working towards.
