The survey is part of the CQC’s thematic review into end of life care, first announced last April in response to concerns around inequalities and variations in care.
Holding a thematic review into end of life care was one of the recommendations to come out of the independent review of the Liverpool Care Pathway.
The review aims to highlight examples of good local practice of joined up, integrated end of life care, as well as identify the barriers which prevent people from receiving good quality and joined-up end of life care.
The review will also identify the actions that need to happen nationally so that the inequalities in end of life care services can be addressed.
As well as gathering feedback from people who have direct experience of end of life care, the review will also bring together existing sources of evidence about quality of care and geographical variations and use the findings of CQC inspections of end of life care in different types of service.
The survey is available until 1 May 2015 and can be completed online.
