About the role

This is a new exciting opportunity within the ICT department.

We have spent the last four years consolidating various business systems and extending the use of a core one, Access thankQ CRM. We are now seeking to recruit a Database Support Analyst to provide operational support, and assist with the data/application analysis required in future projects. The post holder will become the Hospice UK CRM champion and will act as a primary point of contact for all queries related to the system.

Key responsibilities include: provide day-to-day application and data support to all colleagues within the charity, assist and trouble-shoot system issues and undertake User Acceptance Testing for any changes and enhancements. The post holder will also be accountable for providing training and documentation for end-users, as and when required.

Other responsibilities will include: assisting with business analysis work using Excel and T-SQL; holding regular end-user meetings to discuss support and training; and using industry tools to analyse data.

About you

The successful candidate must have prior experience in providing application and database support. S/he must have a sound understanding of data analysis to investigate problems and facilitate system development. Knowledge of the eight principles of data protection will be highly appreciated.

The role involves providing support to colleagues with different needs and requirements so an ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, is essential. The post holder must also be able to work collaboratively with different teams and adopt a flexible approach to work. Other essential skills for this role are tact and diplomacy when dealing with support requests and transfer of knowledge.
