Dr Russell is currently Head of Research at Hospice UK, the national charity for hospice and palliative care. After leaving her post as Clinical Director at the charity Dr Taylor now works with the palliative care teams at the Royal Marsden and Royal Brompton Hospitals in London, while also Clinical Associate at Hospice UK.
Dr Russell and Dr Taylor take over the role officially this month, succeeding current editor Professor Julia Riley, who has led the journal for the last eight years.
The EJPC is an official journal of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) and serves to keep members and non-members up to date on the EAPC’s key activities, goals and strategic direction across Europe. Established in 1994, it is published bi-monthly by Hayward Medical Communications.
The journal includes review articles, case study masterclasses, opinion pieces and research reports.
Commenting on her appointment, Dr Russell said:
“I am delighted to be taking on this exciting role at the EJPC, a go-to resource for professionals working in this field. It will be a privilege to contribute to the sharing of knowledge, experience and expertise by working with the editorial team and the international palliative care community.”
Dr Taylor added:
“I have always loved the breadth of this journal, with articles ranging from opinion to practice to service development in far-flung places. In these times of change and challenge, we hope as new editors that the European Journal of Palliative Care will continue to refresh and provoke.”
