Heart of Kent Hospice were excited to watch as 100 blank Shaun the Sheep sculptures were delivered to TPS Global Logistics, the official Storage and Distribution Partner for Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent art trail.
In October, the team at TPS Global Logistics ensured all the sculptures arrived safely on the specially branded Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent vehicles. TPS have branded two of their artic lorries with Shaun the Sheep in the Heart of Kent to help promote the trail to audiences across the UK and Europe.
Toby Smith, Fulfilment Director at TPS Global Logistics said: “We’re so excited to be a Partner for Heart of Kent Hospice and to be supporting the next art trail. We wanted to get involved due to the amazing work the Hospice carries out in the community and the local area.”
The delivery of sculptures marks a milestone in the development of the project which goes live in Maidstone on the 29 June 2024. Following the selection of large sculpture designs at an event held at Maidstone Museum earlier this month, the sculptures will be delivered to all the chosen artists to be painted.
There will be a painting space at the Mall in Maidstone for a three-month period where a number of the artists will be painting their designs. During that time, members of the public will be able to have a sneak peak of the work that is taking place. The 50 large Shaun sculptures will be unveiled as part of the free public ‘Shaun in the Heart of Kent’ art trail which goes live in the summer of 2024.
The little Shaun sculptures are now making their way to schools, community groups, care homes, charities and businesses, who will also be busy painting their creations over the next few months. The little Shauns form part of the Learning and Community Programme where flocks of sculptures will be displayed alongside the large sculptures in Maidstone.
Following the success of Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade in 2021, which raised over £312,000 for the Hospice, this second free art trail will come to Maidstone and the surrounding area between 29 June and 30 August 2024 before the sculptures are sold at another exciting auction event in aid of Heart of Kent Hospice.
This project will see the Hospice again partner with Wild in Art, the leading producer nationally and globally of these spectacular art events, and Aardman, the world-famous, award-winning studio based in Bristol, and creator of the cheeky and lovable character Shaun the Sheep. Maidstone Borough Council will be the Official Presenting Partner of the trail.
It’s not too late to get your business involved in this exciting new fundraising initiative which provides a unique and fun opportunity to get your customers and colleagues engaged and involved in the trail and help to raise vital funds for Heart of Kent Hospice.
