About us
The Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance (WHPCA) is an international non-governmental organisation focusing exclusively on hospice and palliative care development worldwide. We are a network of national and regional hospice and palliative care organisations and affiliate organisations.
We believe that no-one with a life-limiting condition, such as cancer or HIV, should live and die with unnecessary pain and distress. Our vision is a world with universal access to hospice and palliative care. Our mission is to foster, promote and influence the delivery of affordable, quality palliative care.
We are seeking to build up our profile of projects and programmes. This is the first time we have secured funding for a dedicated fundraising role, and we are excited about the potential for programme growth this position could bring.
The WHPCA is registered in the UK and our secretariat staff are currently based within Hospice UK, in London.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to take up a critical role in expanding our work. Working in a small team, you will lead on the fundraising for WHPCA international programmes; through sourcing major gifts, small, medium and major grants from trusts, foundations and institutional/government funders in the UK, EU and globally.
You will work closely with our partners internationally to develop and monitor projects that successfully meets the needs on the ground, and you will strengthen, develop and maintain strong relationships with our donors.
The role is based in London, at the offices of Hospice UK. It will involve some international travel for meetings and project visits.
About you
We are looking for an experienced senior fundraiser, with a proven track record of securing funds from, and managing relationships with, institutional donors, trusts and foundations. You must be committed to international development, and have experience of working with international partners in developing project applications.
