Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice provides specialist free care to dying people and their families, both at the hospice and in the local community. With only a third of our income coming from the government we must raise nearly £4 million from local people, businesses and community groups every single year.
Are you dynamic, highly organised, and looking for a new challenge? This is an exceptional and new opportunity to work within a well respected local charity, delivering two significant streams of fundraising income.
You’ll need to be outgoing and motivational when encouraging prospects to support the Hospice by taking on a challenge event. You’ll need to be highly organised, detail focused, and sensitive when leading on our in memoriam giving programme. In both aspects of work, great donor (customer) care is crucial.
The role reports to the community fundraising manager and will be required to work closely with other members of the fundraising team and volunteers.
The successful candidate will work as part of the fundraising team within a supportive, creative and industrious environment. Your focus will be to champion challenge fundraising and in memoriam giving both internally to hospice staff and volunteers externally to the community and local businesses. To identify, develop and implement plans for maximising income through challenge events and all aspects of in memoriam giving.
You will be required to ensure a regular flow of income to achieve annual targets by way of management, planning, and coordination, presentations, and marketing materials. You will have a proven track record of using innovation and creativity to the marketing of an organisation or the services that it provides. A good working knowledge of social media techniques will be an asset in this role.
