Fundraising Development Manager (Trusts, Major Gifts and Legacies)

Location: Based at St Barnabas House, Goring By Sea, near Worthing, West Sussex
Role: Working across both Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas House hospices
 

Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice based in Sussex, caring for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and providing support for their families.

St Barnabas House is the adult hospice providing respite and specialist palliative care for adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield area. 

This is a significant role within the Fundraising Team and has high targets, particularly for trust fundraising. The role will require someone who is able to demonstrate experience of raising large trust grants and donations, and writing a credible case for support. The role also requires some experience of major donor giving, including event management, and legacy promotion with professional firms and legators.

The role operates across both hospices, for trusts and legacies promotion, but concentrates on major donor giving for St Barnabas only. 

You will undertake research, planning and actively manage relationships with and approaches to trusts, major donors, professional firms and legators. You will be highly methodical and organised in your approach to your work. You will be able to manage your own workload and work pressures, as well as delegate to a Fundraising Development Officer. 

You must have experience of trust fundraising, plus major donor account development. You will be able to engage with people at all levels, you will need to be an excellent communicator and able to build strong relationships. Must be able to present complex proposals both in written and verbal format. Must be a team player and target driven.
