Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult Hospices in the UK providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, south West London and Middlesex. Our superb Hospice building houses our Day Services and a purpose-built In Patient Unit with the capacity to care for 24 highly complex patients at any one time, offering those who need to stay with us a private, ensuite room with large doors that open out onto our garden, courtyard or decking area.

Our Princess Alice Hospice at Home services bring the skills and expertise of our team of highly-trained professionals – specialist palliative doctors, nurses, social workers, welfare advisors, chaplain and therapists – straight into our patients’ homes giving them, their families and carers access to the vital support they need.

The care we offer to patients at night and our night staff are an essential and core part of the Hospice at Home service. We are now in a position to build on our highly successful Princess Alice Hospice night nursing team.

We are looking for registered Nurses Band 5/6, SHCA’s and HCA’s experienced in palliative care and/or the community setting to join our team with an opportunity to contribute to new services. The night nursing team are based at the Hospice. Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential.  Due to the wide ranging catchment areas covered by the Hospice, all applicants will need to have their own car with a full driving licence.

You will be expected to work flexibly between our night response service, travelling with a registered nurse to patients in their own homes and our night sitting service remaining with patients and their families overnight. You will also support staff in nursing and residential homes with patients already known to the Hospice

These roles will enable you to develop your skills in caring for patients towards the end of life and supporting them to die in the place of their choice. You will be supported by our clinical lead for the night nursing service and relevant Hospice staff including our out of hours telephone advice service coordinator.

Because we value our staff and you are important to us we also offer:
