We are Gloucestershire’s day hospice, providing at-home care and support for people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, and for their families.
Our turnover is over £2.8 million, half of which is generated by our chain of 14 shops and a central warehouse.
We are looking for someone with significant retail management experience, ideally within the charity sector, who will be directly responsible to the chief executive for driving the strategic growth of the charity income streams.
As one of the senior management team, you will be tasked with planning and creating an innovative and comprehensive retail strategy to maximise our retail operation’s contribution and return on investment. Through the skilful and effective management of people, resources and budget, you will have overall responsibility to develop, implement and regularly review all aspects of the strategy, focusing on increasing sales and profits, while expanding our network of shops, improving the warehouse facility and maximising profitability.
Whether your experience has been gained in charity or private sector retail, you will have a track record of contributing to wider policy setting and strategic planning that motivates teams to deliver financial targets. The challenge will be to ensure that the shops continue to build on quality products and service whilst forging strong community links and highlighting the care and values of the hospice.
