Wigan and Leigh Hospice is a well-established charity which has been operating since 1981. We provide specialist palliative care and support to our patients whilst offering vital emotional support for their families thereby aiming to enhance the quality of life of individuals living with a life-limiting, incurable illness. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
About the role
We are looking to recruit to the new and exciting position of Head of Income Generation. You will join the Hospice during a period of service development and will take responsibility for all income generation streams including, fundraising, lottery, retail, donations, trading activities, legacies, grants and charitable trusts.
Income from charitable sources has never been more important for the Hospice. You will have a key role in developing and implementing an effective and comprehensive income generation strategy to ensure financial opportunities and our return on investment is maximised. Knowledge of the charity and fundraising sectors, regulatory framework and Gift Aid regulations is essential alongside a proven track record in leading, managing and developing a number of diverse teams.
The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader capable of supporting and developing team members enabling them to turn ideas into revenue. The candidate will possess excellent project management, problem solving, report writing and presentation skills as well as having significant media / PR experience. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships across the Hospice catchment area and for ensuring high standards of governance, compliance and control.
A Disclosure and Barring Services Check (DBS) will be required.
