About the role
Influencing the policy agenda, and shaping our advocacy activities is key to supporting our aspiration to be the leading advocate for hospice care.
The Head of Policy and Advocacy will support the work of the Director of Policy and Advocacy in leading our policy development and influencing work on behalf of local hospices and in the interests of people at the end of life and their families and carers. The post holder will also design and implement appropriate policy and advocacy support for hospices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The successful candidate will have experience of leading policy, public affairs or advocacy activities at a national or regional level, knowledge of health or voluntary sector policy in the UK, and experience of developing and delivering policy support across the four nations. The candidate must be able to design and implement policy and public affairs activities, and be comfortable managing complexity. They will need to be able to analyse and interpret complex issues, and build cogent arguments for change, and be a confident communicator able to engage with people at all levels.
