Cohort 3 recently completed the 18-month postgraduate course, which is made up of six modules and culminates in a six-month research project.
The Masters in Hospice Leadership is described as “a leadership development programme for those in a leadership role in a hospice or similar service in the context of end of life and palliative care.”
Developed in partnership with Help the Hospices, the programme creates opportunities for individuals to link theory and practice appropriate to the current challenges facing leaders in the sector.
The graduates from Cohort 3 will present their research findings at a forum event to be held in December. The forum will see leading names from across the sector come together to get a taster of the the student’s varied research projects. And students will be officially awarded with their qualification at a graduation ceremony on 12 December 2013.
The next group of students has already commenced the 2013 Hospice Leadership course, with 16 new hopefuls from across the sector keen to follow in Cohort 3’s footsteps.
Bursaries for the MA in Hospice Leadership continue to be supported by the Towergate Charitable Foundation. Part of Towergate Insurance, The Towergate Charitable Foundation, is a long term supporter of hospice care and Help the Hospices, donating over £1.9 million to hospice care since 2008.
