Thirteen runners who completed the TCS London Marathon for St Wilfrid’s Hospice have raised a record amount for the charity. The ‘Team Wilf’ supporters have already collected more than £32,000, with money still coming in.
Ten runners ran the marathon in London, while a further three ran it virtually through the TCS London Marathon My Way system, which meant people could take part anywhere they wanted as long as it was completed on the actual marathon day last Sunday (26th April).
Events Manager, Beth Hillier, said: “Our supporters never fail to amaze us with their fundraising efforts, and this year’s marathon team have surpassed all expectations by raising the highest amount ever. We appreciate the time and effort from every one of them, as getting to the level where you can complete a marathon takes real dedication. So, thank you all.”
The hospice has four charity places secured for next year’s event on Sunday 25th April 2027, and is encouraging anyone interested to make an application at stwhospice.org/application-london-marathon-2027 for more information.
