The hospice chaplaincy team see the new services as an extension of current practice, where people leave pieces of paper in the hospice chapel containing the name of someone that they wish to remember or to have a prayer said for. People can use the online form to ask for help putting together a prayer for a particular person, problem or celebration.
Chaplain Ian Dewar hopes the new webpage will make the service more accessible and open up the idea to more people. He explains: “There are occasions in life when we want to express a thought, a hope or even a moan to God. The difficulty is we often can’t quite find the words or we want to get to a particular place to say the prayer but just can’t manage it.
“This service is designed for just those occasions. If you would like a member of the chaplaincy team to remember you, your concerns or your joys in their daily prayers you can now visit our website and fill in the form.”
