Hospice Trustees – ‘what you need to know’

Categories: Community Engagement.

7 July, St Richard’s  Hospice, Worcester

Hospice UK is running a series of one-day workshops for hospice trustees to develop their understanding and awareness of the trustees’ role and responsibilities in running an effective hospice. Workshops will be informal but intensive and interactive/ participative. Resource material will be supplied to support attendees as well as signposting to further sources of information, and support for the trustee role.

By the end of the workshop trustees will gain:

  • greater clarity about your core role when acting as a trustee for your hospice
  • more in-depth knowledge of your legal responsibilities and duties as a trustee of a charity and a director of a company limited by guarantee
  • increased awareness of working in partnership with your chief executive and/or senior management
  • a structured opportunity to network with trustees from other hospices in your region.

Facilitator: Sarah Hargreaves, is the author of Hospice UK’s Trustee Induction Pack (2015) and has many years’ experience of working with a wide range of hospices throughout the UK on both governance and management issues.

Who should attend?

The workshops will be relevant to all trustees whether they are new to the role or would like to refresh their knowledge and understanding of good governance. Workshops are only open to members of Hospice UK.
